 Sanger er svært nyttige i innlæring av engelsk. Rytmen i sangen kan også være til hjelp slik at eleven utvikler en følelse for rytmen i språket. I og med at det ofte er lettere å huske tekst i en sang enn i en vanlig tekst, så vil sang ofte være svært verdifullt når det gjelder utvidelse av ordforrådet.
